Nutrition Programs

An essential component in the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular disease and diabetes is balanced nutrition based on the specific needs of each person.
Our individualized dietary program will focus on both the short term success and long term feasibility of the eating plan in order to help you reach and maintain your goals.

The following programs are recommended in combination with an exercise program.

Cardio Protective Program

This starter package teaches you how to lose weight with a focus on low glycemic index foods and good carbohydrate choices. Essential components of the Mediterranean Diet will be discussed. Participants will learn how to maintain their weight as well.

√   Includes 4 sessions totalling 150 minutes over a 4 month period.
√  The 1st session will be 60 minutes long and includes a full history and overview of your recommended eating plan.
√  The 2nd session will be 2 weeks later and will last 30 minutes. We will review your progress and reinforce the basic eating plan.
√  Sessions 3 and 4 will be 30 minutes long and will provide you with on-going feedback and tips to maintain the balanced nutrition plan.

Classic Heart Health Program
with Follow-Up

This program educates the patient on balanced eating habits using the Food Exchange System and Canada’s Food Guide to Healthy Eating.

√   A 3 day food log is used as a base for recommendations.
Respects the American Heart Association diet recommendations.

Service provided by a licensed dietician
and covered by most Health Insurance plans.
